I recently had the pleasure of working on this Wild Elopement inspiration photoshoot with a handful of talented creatives. Needless to say that I was over the moon to get involved as soon as I was presented with the idea of an Engagement – Elopement styled shoot in the middle of the gorgeous Sussex countryside. Y’all know I’m a sucker for epic landscapes!

Firstly – huge thanks to our trooper models Lily and Ollie for braving the zero degree cold to bring our vision to life!

The Styling

The shoot started with a beautiful Moroccan-style picnic put together by our talented stylist Claire of Butler and White. Persian rugs, a gorgeous mix of brass cups and vases, dried grasses and hand-dyed napkins. Her love of elopements really shows in her work as she managed to create a perfect relaxed and warm atmosphere – even at zero degrees. To complete the bohemian look, Claire laid out tassel stationery – name places and vows – with beautiful calligraphy by Lou Paper.

The Ring

It’s not a proposal without a ring, right?! To add to the wild bohemian vibe, the lovely jeweller Rosie Odette supplied a statement ruby and emerald ring.

Beauty

Our wonderful makeup artist Poppy Tallulah created a beautifully natural make up look and a gorgeous hairstyle with effortless waves and boho chic braid which we absolutely fell in love with.

The Outfits

Alex from The Wild Heart Bridal elevated the shoot by dressing our model Lily in the breathtaking Adara dress by Rue de Seine. This gown features separate bell sleeves for that ethereal bohemian look. To keep Lily warm, Claire dressed her in a beautiful full length vintage sheepskin coat from Harrods. Ollie wore a country style jacket by Pull and Bear.

The Florals

The stunning archway was put together by team Gobotanica. Their professionalism and years of experience shined through when faced with such difficult terrain and logistics. I love how their moongate brings the symmetry of Devil’s Dyke together perfectly. Not to mention their beautiful bouquet which brings a pop of colour to the palette.

We hope this elopement inspiration shoot will inspire more couples to ditch traditions and expectations. And, quite literally, head for the hills to celebrate their relationship in the middle of gorgeous British landscapes. Because look at those epic views!!

If you’re planning a wild proposal I’d love to be the one to capture it all! Drop me a line at elena@elenapopa.com with your ideas!
