FAQ

How do I book you for my wedding? What is the booking process?

To secure me for your wedding, a non-refundable deposit (usually £600 for full day weddings, £400 for microweddings) is required together with signing an online contract. The balance is due the month of the wedding.

How do you work?

In the lead up to the wedding, I am available for wedding-related questions and requests for advice and will get in touch to arrange a video call ahead of the wedding to discuss timeline and logistics.

On the wedding day, I will meet your energy. I will be a calming, supportive and reassuring presence who keenly observes the interactions around me. I don’t impose a look on your wedding but reveal the feeling of a wedding in an artful and honest way. I will give gentle direction where needed during the couple’s portrait session, but most of the wedding day is captured naturally as it unfolds.

Can we meet virtually before our wedding day?

Absolutely! It’s definitely a good idea to get to know each other a little bit ahead of the wedding day. I usually organise a video call for all three of us to go through your plans about a month before the wedding day. If you prefer to meet in person, we can organise a pre-wedding shoot so you can see how I work and ease any nerves you may have about being photographed.

What makes you different from other photographers?

I have 10 years of experience as a wedding photographer, with over 300 weddings photographed. I offer a warm and supportive client experience and a deeply observational style, empathetically noticing human connection. I find emotion in unspoken connections and have a keen eye for fashion and considered detail.

When will we receive our photos?

I deliver a preview within a week of the wedding and the final gallery is delivered 8 weeks after the wedding date.

Can we order albums and prints?

Yes, these can be ordered via your online wedding gallery, which is connected to a high quality album and print store operating in the UK. The process is self explanatory, but there are also helpful videos within the gallery to guide you if needed.

Are you insured?

I am, for your peace of mind and mine. In some cases your venue may request to see a copy of my public liability insurance, which I am happy to provide.

Do you back up our photos?

Absolutely. I back up your photos as soon as I get home from your wedding. Then, once everything is edited, your photos will be hosted online and copied twice onto two separate hard drives.

Can you recommend a videographer?

Yes, I have plenty of recommendations, not just for videographers but any type of wedding supplier who can help bring your vision to life.

What happens if you unexpectedly can’t make our wedding?

Fortunately this has never happened, and hopefully never will, but it’s always good to have a back-up plan. I am lucky enough to be part of several networks of talented photographers who I can call on to take my place in capturing your wedding day if need be.

What happens if we need to cancel our booking?

Any cancellations incur the loss of the booking fee. If alternatively you are looking to postpone your wedding to a later date on which I am available, the booking fee is transferrable, but your package will be subject to up-to-date prices.

Do you work with a second photographer?

A second photographer is not included in either of the two main packages, but can be added on request. I am happy to advise as to whether one is necessary.

How far do you travel for weddings?

I travel anywhere within the UK and European Union for weddings. Travel is included for UK weddings, whereas an additional charge applies for destination weddings.

Will you photograph our wedding yourself, or do you use associate photographers?

I will be the one covering your wedding. In exceptional circumstances, if I cannot attend, I will arrange for a trusted associate to cover the wedding.

Do you provide film photography?

Yes, I do offer film photography and can provide hybrid digital/film coverage depending on your preference.

Do you take group photos?

Yes, I believe group shots are an important part of every wedding. I will ask you for a list of friend/family groupings ahead of the day.

When does coverage typically start and end?

I don’t have a set time I start or finish as long as the 10 hours are taken in one continuous block. As a guide for my couples I suggest taking half an hour after the first dance as the finish point and working 10 hours backwards from that to take you to the start of photo coverage.

How many photos will we receive?

I tend to deliver, on average, 60 images per hour of coverage as a minimum.

Do we get high-resolution files? Are they watermarked?

Images are delivered online, in high resolution with no watermarks.

Do you direct poses, or do you prefer to capture natural moments?

I gently direct my couples during the couple’s portraits and during the morning portraits I take once prep is finished. I also of course pose the group shots as is their nature. During the rest of the day I capture the action as it unfolds and don’t interfere in the flow of the day.
